A Personal Contribution To The Conservative Cause

I was born in Eastern Europe, right in the middle of the war. The year was 1941. The war eventually ended and the communism took over. I escaped communism with the sole purpose of making the United States my new country. The year was 1969. I became a naturalized US citizen in 1976. This country has been great to me. I am retired now living in California.

I am watching in amazement the presidential contenders promising to deliver just about everything under the sun to the “people”. This is a typical socialistic approach. Socialist undercurrents are not new to this country. Roosevelt had his Great Society, Nixon placed salary caps and taxed old and new oil differently creating gas shortages, Carter did even worse and the interest rates for a home went up to 20 percent. I can go on and on. All these measures were eventually repealed or in the case of Social Security, the country is still managing it somehow.

That is not the case when national security is influenced by socialist ideology.

The way communism landed in Eastern Europe puzzled me for long time. One day, I came across an old book, Inside Europe, by John Gunther, 1938 edition. It was like a time capsule, unrevised, frozen in time.

From 1924 to 1936, John Gunther was assigned to the London bureau of the Chicago Daily News. Well known author of several “Inside” books. Inside Europe is the source for my information. It is out of print, but you can still buy it used through Amazon.

1938 was an important year because it was only two years away from the war. England had several opportunities to stop Hitler in its tracks, when he had no weapons. England, not only didn’t stop him, it helped him. Stalin never intended to wage war anywhere. He had the International Proletariat that he financed whose mission was to build a strong communist party in each country worldwide.

Yalta agreement between US, UK and Soviet Union signed by Roosevelt set the stage for the cold war. Roosevelt had the upper hand; he did not have to give Eastern Europe to Stalin but he did.

This is socialism at work. I am not saying that socialism will happen here in the USA, but it could.

Just think, free health-care and/or Obama becoming president.

The information presented on this site is intended to show how the socialist political leadership in Europe failed to prevent WWII and how US leadership fell into the same socialist trap that led to the cold war.

Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin and Roosevelt were socialists at heart.
